How you can get involved.
Why not start by coming along to one of our events and saying Hi to our volunteers. They are all very friendly. If you prefer, you can drop us an email at nottsbsa@…. let us know when you are coming and we’ll send you a quick introduction so you know who you are looking for.
For more information about Donations or Sponsorship, please visit our separate page.
You can join us at one of our monthly committee meetings too. These are where we chat through our current and upcoming projects and events. This is a good way to get an overview of what we are up to, find out where projects are recruiting and get in at the start of new venture.
We also have a form for you to register your interest and tell us your skills so, hopefully, we can direct you towards a suitable opportunity. You can find out about some of our roles here.
Is volunteering for Nottingham British Science Association right for you?
You don’t need to be a scientist to join in. We love you if you have science skills or enthusiasm. We definitely also need you if you are creative, love writing, or are an ace organiser. In fact, we are particularly keen to hear from you if you haven’t been involved with science before.
You’ll fit in if you are keen to get experience planning events, demonstrating science, watching fascinating speakers (and finding more), inventing ways to communicate with all ages and via any means (ok, maybe not skywriting….).
Harriet (our chair) says:
”I keep being amazed by what the team can do. Everyone is doing this entirely in their spare time which is just incredible. I got involved with the committee, first just helping out here and there, then with Science in the Park and Quiz. I found myself secretary and then chair after a few years. It has been such a valuable and rewarding experience.”
